Friday! Hope everyone is enjoying their last few days of Spring Break! Even though it’s a so called “vacation week”, we haven’t slowed down. This weekend we have a Childrens’ Black Belt test. Saturday at 1 pm, these kids will be pushing to achieve a goal they started many many years ago. They don’t need luck, they have the skills, but give them your support on this momentous test!
Spring Break! While the Kent School district enjoys Spring Break this week, we are OPEN for all classes. If you’re traveling for vacation, we understand you not being here, but if you’re having a staycation, make training part of it!
This Saturday we also have a children’s black belt test! 1 pm is the time for these awesome kids to be pushed like they never have before. I can already see them rising to the challenge. It’s going to rock!
A fun week of training. Kids and teens took it a little easy, a needed brak from all the hard work going into testing. Next week we start hitting the grindstone again and working on those gains.
Adults are rocking the competition training. Setting stratagies and filling in the holes in their game. Time to finish off the week with great Friday classes and then have a fantastic weekend!
First Monday of April and it looks like it will be a great one! Last Friday’s belt test was off the hook! Children really shined, whether it was showing traditional technique, or working those boxing skills, taking it all to another level. The teenagers were not to be outdone. Not only did they display some great individual techniques, but their ability to come together and work together was a showcase of how it should be done. Testing results are posted at the school, congratulations to everyone!
In a few weeks we have a children’s black belt test happening! April 16th is the big day! Plan to stop in and support these amazing kids as they go through the hardest test of their young lives. Makes for a genuinely exciting month!
Adults are not sitting idly by either. Some are working hard with completions coming up, and some are starting to nail techniques that a few short weeks ago seemed alien and strange. Such a talented group of people we have training.
That’s our big Monday update. Time to get to work, we don’t make gains by just talking about them.

Please remember to ARRIVE EARLY. Once a test has started, late students may not be able to enter. This is a big test, so please be patient as we work through it!
Children
White and Sr. White Belts — 5 pm
Yellow and Sr. Yellow Belts — 5:30 pm
Orange, Sr. Orange, Green, Blue, and Sr. Blue — 6 pm

Teenagers
If possible, teenagers should show at 5 pm to help with the children’s test. If not, then please show by 7 pm. The teenager test will begin immediately after the children’s tests end.
All teens should show for the test whether they are testing or not. Please support your teammates and plan to be there for the entire test. Due to the size of this test, please plan for a late night.

Adults: Tournament training is kicking into high gear. If you want to be ready, you’d better put some sweat on the mats!
Testing Week! This Friday will be belt testing for Children and Teens. Testing applications are due Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Since this looks to be a large test, no late applications will be accepted. Please be dedicated and get things in on time.
Adult class will practice as normal Monday to Thursday, but no classes on Friday. We have some people getting ready for tournaments, so competition training starts this week also. Time to put some sweat on the mats!
We love reading here at Lion’s Way Martial Arts, it’s great for the mind. Don’t forget you also have to work the physical and you don’t get that sitting at home! Let’s make this Friday great by training hard! Have a fantastic weekend!
