Wednesday and it’s another hot one folks! We will be OPEN today, but it’s a close call. We will have AC on and we will be slowing training down. Today’s weather is calling for 90 to 91 degrees in Kent and that is about the maximum our AC can handle.

Please check back tomorrow. Right now, forecasts are calling for 93 to 95 degrees and that pushes us beyond safe limits. It’s always a tough call but we want everyone to be safe. You can always make up classes.

Stay cool today and please drink that water! Be well and be cool.

We’re inching closer to the start of school for Kent school district! Are you prepared? Are your kids? Monday! Hot weather is back, but thankfully not too hot. We are OPEN today and the AC will be on.

Great test this last Friday. The children and teens did a fantastic job. Testing results are posted in the school entryway. With this test we begin to exit summer and start looking forward to the new school year. Crazy how time is flying this year. Let’s get these awesome students ready for the best school year ever, time to get training!

Testing Times for this Friday – 8-5-2022

Please remember to ARRIVE EARLY. Once a test has started, late students may not be able to enter. This is a good-sized test, so please be patient as we work through it!

Children (By their current belt color)

White, Sr. White, Yellow and Sr. Yellow — 5 pm

Orange, Green and Sr. Green — 5:30 pm

Sr. Red — 6 pm

Teenagers (All belt ranks)

If possible, teenagers should show up at 5 pm to help with the children’s test. If not, then please show by 6:30 pm. The teenager test will begin immediately after the children’s tests end.

All teens should show for the test whether they are testing or not. Please support your teammates and plan to be there for the entire test. Due to the size of this test, please plan for a late night.

It’s Wednesday and training is going great. Fantastic to see so many people pushing this week as testing arrives this Friday (8-5-2022)! Never give up!

Monday and Testing and Good Weather – Oh My!

Nature is giving us something we can work with, temperatures at 81 today. AC will be on and thankfully we will be OPEN! Let’s hope the 90 + temps are gone for this year.

TESTING is this week, Friday Aug 5. Testing application will go home with those that are ready starting today. REMINDER: Testing application are due by WEDNESDAY. Testing times will be posted Thursday, and Friday is the test. We’ll have to work a bit harder this week to make up for those 4 days, but it should be an easy thing, since our students are hardworking anyways.

Thank you for your patience last week, now let’s kick this week into high gear!

Thursday and Friday: No classes due to extreme heat!

As much as I hate to do it, I’m just going to call the week. The extreme heat advisory is still in effect for our area until Saturday. It shows no real hope of change. With temperatures of 95+degrees expected, it’s not safe to train. Hopefully, you can find some way to stay cool and enjoy the heat.

Testing week is coming up next week (Friday Aug. 5). The weather is looking to be back to normal, so no change currently. Be ready to push a bit and make up for those lost days.

Wednesday – No classes today due to severe heat.

Yesterday in Kent they recorded 96 degrees. Today different forecasts call for 93 to 96 again. Unfortunately the area remains under an Excessive Heat Warning. While we would love to be training, even with AC, this is just not safe weather for physical activity. The health and well being of our students is always our prime concern.

This warning had been extended until Saturday at this point. We will check and make a decisions on a day by day basis. Please return here and check in each day. More importantly be well, drink water and find some place cool. Remember you can always make up classes.

Last note: Testing for Children and Teen classes is schedules for next Friday Aug. 5. At this point that will not change. We may have to work a bit harder next week, when it’s cooler, but at this point nothing has changed.  If this heat wave continues we may make adjustments and we will keep you updated.
