Assistant Spotlight!

They don’t get nearly enough credit, and it’s time we change that. This is David and Aria—two people who work tirelessly behind the scenes and on the mats to keep Lion’s Way running smoothly.

They’re the ones keeping the place clean, helping new kids get comfortable, supporting training, and stepping in wherever they’re needed. Our assistants are trained to be adaptable, multitalented, and ready for anything.

Next time you’re in, give them a big, genuine thank you for everything they do. Lion’s Way is better because of them.

Huge congratulations to everyone who tested on Friday! Results are now posted in the entryway.

It was a smaller group this time with Spring Break in full swing. If your child missed testing, please chat with us when you come in — we’ll be setting aside time for make‑up tests to accommodate family travel and vacations.

Now it’s time to hit the ground running. This week we get back to putting sweat on the mats, knowledge in our minds, and great feelings in our hearts.

Let’s train hard and make it an amazing week!

Please remember to ARRIVE EARLY.
Plan to arrive 10 to 15 min before your test!

Because of Spring Break, this test cycle is smaller than usual, but punctuality is still essential. Once a test has begun, late students will not be allowed to enter. Starting on time helps us keep the schedule moving and ensures every student gets the focus they deserve. We appreciate your patience as we work through the requirements and do our best to keep the evening running smoothly.

Children (Test according to their current rank / belt color)
White, Sr. White, Yellow, Sr. Yellow, Orange and Sr. Orange — 5 pm
Sr. Green, Blue, Sr. Blue, Purple and Sr. Brown — 5:25 pm

Teenagers
If possible, teenagers should arrive at 5:00 PM to assist with the children’s test. If that’s not feasible, please arrive no later than 5:50 PM. The teenagers’ test will begin immediately after the children’s test concludes.

Once again, teens must be present no later than 5:50 PM. All teens are expected to attend the test, whether they are participating or not. Please support your teammates and plan to stay for the entire duration of the test.

Thank you all for your dedication and support!

Testing Applications Due

Happy Wednesday! Quick reminder for our Teens & Children: Testing applications are due today! You can drop them off any time—we’ll take them as soon as you walk in.

Testing times will be posted tomorrow (Thursday) by late afternoon, both online and at the school. Please check back so you know your group’s schedule.

Because this test falls during Spring Break, groups may be smaller than usual, which means focused energy and great training opportunities.

Spring Break Testing Note: We normally avoid scheduling tests during this week, but this cycle couldn’t be shifted. If you’re traveling, out for Spring Break, or can’t make Friday due to family plans, please let us know. We’ll be offering extra make‑up testing options over the next couple of weeks to keep everyone on track.

Keep training hard and finish strong!

Summertime! — While Others Hit “Pause,” We Hit Our Stride. 🦁

Looking for a productive way to keep them active this summer? At Lion’s Way Martial Arts, we trade screen time for real-world confidence!

Summer is the perfect time for your child to find their “stride.” Our classes are high-energy, positive, and—most importantly—a ton of fun! We focus on bringing out the best in every student in an environment where everyone belongs.

What your child will find at Lion’s Way:

  • New Friendships: Joining a supportive “pride” of teammates.
  • Positive Energy: Classes that keep them moving and smiling.
  • Big Achievements: Building confidence through every new skill they master.

Don’t just fill their schedule—fuel their potential.

🔥 Our kids and teens are on FIRE getting ready for next week’s test! 🔥

They’re training hard, pushing themselves, and showing the kind of grit that makes us proud every single day. Some will earn their next rank next week, some will level up at the following test — but every single one of them is putting in the work.

We couldn’t resist sharing a few of the awesome moments we’ve captured from our amazing students. Their focus, effort, and smiles say it all.

Onward to Friday, the weekend… and TESTING WEEK ahead!

4-1-2026

April 1, 2026 — Happy April Fools’ Day! Don’t worry, we’re not trying to fool anyone. Our students, friends, and families are far too sharp for that.

What we are doing is giving you a quick reminder:

Kids & Teens Testing is next Friday, April 10! Plenty of time to train hard and finish strong.

And yes—because it always comes up—we are OPEN all next week, even as the Kent School District heads into Spring Break. Classes run on our normal schedule for Children, Teens, and Adults.

See you on the mats for a great week of training!

3-30-2026

We’re two weeks out from testing! Friday, April 10, 2026, is the big day. Children and teens need 3-stripes on their belt to be eligible. Not everyone is ready for every test, and that’s completely fine. If this isn’t your cycle, that’s great—keep training hard and aim for the next one.

Testing applications will be sent home starting Monday, April 6. Please plan to turn them in on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday next week.

Putting that training in as testing draws near!
Our kids and teens are showing real dedication, hard work, and plenty of smiles along the way. Love seeing that focus and fun side‑by‑side.

Keep up the great work—you’re all crushing it!
