Welcome to July! We have a few things to be aware of heading into this month so let’s break it down.

Monday: Classes as normal!

Tuesday: No classes for July 4th!

Wednesday to Friday: Looks like we are in for a stretch of high heat, with it peaking on Wednesday. Reminder: While we will be running the air-conditioning, when temperatures reach over 90 degrees, we do cancel classes for everyone’s safety. Please check back on Wednesday as we will be monitoring the heat conditions closely and post an update by Wednesday afternoon. Drink that water and stay cool!

Friday! Such a great week of training as the kids headed into summer. All our classes, children, teens and adults were really on fire this week! Keep up the great work.

Next week on Tuesday, July 4th, we will be closed for classes. All other days we are OPEN as normal. Time to enjoy Independance Day!

Monday! Now that school is out, summer training can begin! What’s different for summer? Not much actually, we still have our high energy classes, discipline and fun! We will keep your kids’ minds sharp through the summer. A few other summer surprises may pop up, so be on the lookout! Let’s make it great!

Last days of school. While some schools have already finished for summer, the Kent School districts’ last day is scheduled for this Friday. No matter when you finish, congratulations to all the students and families who have made another successful year of learning!

At Lion’s Way Martial Arts, we don’t have a last day because we train year round! So we’ll help you keep the learning, and fun, going into summer! See you soon!

Monday June 19, Juneteenth! Kids have school off today for this solemn holiday. We will be showing our respect the best way we can, by training. We are OPEN for all classes today.

Monday! School’s almost out and summer will be hitting soon! For kids’ and teens that tested last week, belts are in and we’ll be handing them out in class starting today! What a great way to start the week.

Love it when the sun is out! Going to be a hot one today, however. We have the air-conditioning on, so we’ll keep the training comfortable! Remember to drink that water!

That was a fantastic weekend! On Friday we had an outstanding kids and teens test! They rocked it. We posted testing results in the school.

On Saturday, our adult class took to the mats at the Proving Grounds submission only tournament. We had three competitors and we came home with three medals! That’s how you get it done!

This week we head into what we consider Lion’s Way Summer Training! Same hard work, but with more sunshine – haha. It’s going to be a fantastic summer!

Once a test has started, late students may not enter. This is a LARGE test. Please be on time to help ensure it runs smoothly! Please be patient as we work through it!

Children (Test according to their current Rank)

White and Sr. White Belts — 5 pm

Sr. Yellow Belts — 5:30 pm

Orange and Sr. Orange — 6 pm

Green, Sr. Green, Blue, Sr. Blue and Purple – 6:40 pm

Teenagers

If possible, teenagers should show up at 5 pm to help with the children’s test. If not, then please show by 6:30 pm. The teenager test will begin immediately after the children’s tests end.

All teens should show for the test whether or not they are testing. Please support your teammates and plan to be there for the entire test. Due to the size of this test, please plan for a late night.

Wednesday! Reminder today is the last day to turn in testing applications for Children and Teens! Testing times will be posted tomorrow, Thursday, late afternoon. Testing is on Friday.
