April 1 – No April Fool’s Day joke, fools don’t train at Lion’s Way! A couple thing to cover on this beautiful Monday.

1st. Testing this past Friday went well. The beginner kids were a little unfocused, excitement and all. However, with a little work, they found their path and really showed their grit! The other tests went smoothly with some really impressive displays of skill. Testing results are posted in the entryway — Congratulations to ALL!

This Friday, April 5 — No Classes. Special Instructor Workshop.

Next week April 8 to April 12 — Kent School District has Spring Break. We will be OPEN for all classes next week. A great time to make up some missed classes or keep the kids busy during the school vacation.

Once a test has started, late students may not enter. We have a good number of people testing. Please be on time to help ensure it runs smoothly! Please be patient as we work through it!

Children (Test according to their current Rank)

White and Sr. White Belts — 5 pm

Yellow and Orange Belts — 5:30 pm

Green and Blue belts — 6:00 pm

Sr. Blue and Sr. Purple belts — 6:30 pm

Teenagers

If possible, teenagers should show up at 5 pm to help with the children’s test. If not, then please show by 6:20 pm. The teenager test will begin immediately after the children’s tests end. Again, Teens please show no later than 6:20pm!

All teens should show for the test whether or not they are testing. Please support your teammates and plan to be there for the entire test.

Wednesday! Reminder for all CHILDREN and TEENS! Testing applications are due today. You may drop them off at anytime before we close tonight. Testing is on Friday and we will post testing times tomorrow (Thursday).

Also, a thank you to all the patient people I’ve talked to today. Yesterday I posted about our phone message issue (please see the previous posts). The people that have called me back have been fantastic in their understanding. Thank you all.

If you have left a message in the last month, please be aware we did NOT get it. I just heard from our phone provider that our messages were not routing to our phone. They are lost. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Testing week! This Friday will be belt testing for children and teens.

Testing applications are due, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday only. Testing applications will be handed out starting today.

Testing times will be posted on Thursday!

Reminder, not everyone is ready for every test. Enjoy the practice!

Friday! We are one week away from our next belt test for children and teens! Use the weekend to relax and have fun! Next week we will bear down and hit testing with a passion!

Reminder to all parents on this bit cooler Wednesday. When picking up your children from Lion’s Way Martial Arts, we DO NOT allow children / teens to go into the parking lot. This includes the driving area in front of the school. You must be in a parking space in font of the school or you have to be waiting on the sidewalk. It is important to inform any grandparents / guardians / sitters who may assist with picking up of this rule as well.

If you wish to opt-out of this rule, we DO NOT recommend this. You can do so by filling out the necessary forms in the office.
