May the 4th be with you! We’ll be celebrateing the day by levitating rocks and working with our lightsabers! – or maybe not. We will have some great training, but we’ll keep it more down to Earth. Hope to see you on this fabulous Star Wars Day!
Welcome to the first Monday of May! It’s less than 2 months till the official start of Summer and the last day of school for kids. Is this year moving slow or fast? Whichever it is for you, hopefully you’re making the best of it.
Classes will be rocking this week. Kids and Teens will be working core curriculum. Adults are putting some final work into tournament training as we inch closer to some upcoming competitions.
No matter what class you’re in, if you’re looking for excitement, you’ll find it here!

Wednesday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Slowly hitting the end of the school year, but the fantastic training has never been better. Enjoy the pic of some of our children’s classes; we run 3 children’s groups: Beginner, intermediate and advanced. I’m still trying to catch some good pics of the teens and adult classes too. They tend to be little more camera shy – haha.

Friday! Nice to see everyone getting back on the mats after spring break! This weekend looks to be warming up, don’t forget to get outside and enjoy it! Sunshine can brighten the mood as well as brighten the day.

Monday! Wow, before we look at the week ahead, we need to talk about last Saturday! The kids black belt test was an extreme celebration of just what kids can accomplish! They pushed through sore muscles, hard hits, and even tears. Their dedication and focus on overcoming all obstacles placed before them should be an example to everyone, children and adults, on how to approach life. Truly inspirational. It will take a while to get results of this long, Indepth test but please congratulate all the participants when you see them. Respect!
This week, Spring Break is over and it’s time to get back to work. Hope everyone enjoyed their vacation and is ready to put some sweat on the mats. Children and Teens are working core curriculum this week, while the adults continue preparations for competition and personal goals. It’s going to be an awesome time training.

Friday! Hope everyone is enjoying their last few days of Spring Break! Even though it’s a so called “vacation week”, we haven’t slowed down. This weekend we have a Childrens’ Black Belt test. Saturday at 1 pm, these kids will be pushing to achieve a goal they started many many years ago. They don’t need luck, they have the skills, but give them your support on this momentous test!
Spring Break! While the Kent School district enjoys Spring Break this week, we are OPEN for all classes. If you’re traveling for vacation, we understand you not being here, but if you’re having a staycation, make training part of it!
This Saturday we also have a children’s black belt test! 1 pm is the time for these awesome kids to be pushed like they never have before. I can already see them rising to the challenge. It’s going to rock!
A fun week of training. Kids and teens took it a little easy, a needed brak from all the hard work going into testing. Next week we start hitting the grindstone again and working on those gains.
Adults are rocking the competition training. Setting stratagies and filling in the holes in their game. Time to finish off the week with great Friday classes and then have a fantastic weekend!
First Monday of April and it looks like it will be a great one! Last Friday’s belt test was off the hook! Children really shined, whether it was showing traditional technique, or working those boxing skills, taking it all to another level. The teenagers were not to be outdone. Not only did they display some great individual techniques, but their ability to come together and work together was a showcase of how it should be done. Testing results are posted at the school, congratulations to everyone!
In a few weeks we have a children’s black belt test happening! April 16th is the big day! Plan to stop in and support these amazing kids as they go through the hardest test of their young lives. Makes for a genuinely exciting month!
Adults are not sitting idly by either. Some are working hard with completions coming up, and some are starting to nail techniques that a few short weeks ago seemed alien and strange. Such a talented group of people we have training.
That’s our big Monday update. Time to get to work, we don’t make gains by just talking about them.
