Kent School District may be on Winter Break—but we’re still kicking for the next two days. Classes run on our normal schedule today and tomorrow, and then we take our own Winter Break. New year classes begin January 5, 2026.

The school remains OPEN and unaffected by the weather. Classes will continue as scheduled through this week and into the first few days of next week, leading up to our winter break.

Next week: We’ll hold classes on Monday and Tuesday as the Kent School District begins its break. If your holiday plans aren’t too packed, come train with us—we’ll work off some of that extra energy before the new year!

While traditionally a smaller test, it was great to see such a strong showing to close out the year. Testing results are posted in the entryway!

Once a test has started, late students will not be allowed to enter. With so many participants, punctuality is crucial to keeping everything running smoothly. We appreciate your patience as we work through the requirements. While we strive to make the process efficient, the sheer number of testers often leads to late nights, especially for teens.
Children (Test according to their current rank / belt color)
White, Sr. White Belts, Yellow and Sr. Yellow belts — 5 pm
Orange, Green, Sr. Green, Blue, Sr. Blue, and Brown — 5:25 pm
Teenagers
If possible, teenagers should arrive at 5:00 PM to assist with the children’s test. If that’s not feasible, please arrive no later than 6:00 PM. The teenagers’ test will begin immediately after the children’s test concludes.
Once again, teens must be present no later than 6:00 PM. All teens are expected to attend the test, whether they are participating or not. Please support your teammates and plan to stay for the entire duration of the test.

Welcome to the last month of the year! It is time for the final Belt Test of 2025 for children and teens. I know it has been a long weekend and hope you enjoyed the Thanksgiving break, but now it is time to get back to work.
Reminder: All Testing Applications are due Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday only. Please stop by the school to turn everything in on time. Testing will be this Friday; testing times will be posted on Thursday, but normally we start around 5 pm.

Yes, it’s Wednesday and we have class as normal, but with tomorrow’s festivities we didn’t want to miss the chance to share a holiday greeting with all our students, friends, and family here at Lion’s Way Martial Arts! May today be the start of something wonderful this holiday season.
