Hope everyone had a great weekend! Halloween is over and a new time change is upon us! This week also puts the elections into full swing. A busy way to enter the lasts months of an already turbulent 2020. Stay positive, respect one another and we will make it through it all!

Training kicks of as normal this month! Kids and teens will be working toward the last test of the year, which happens at the beginning of Dec! We also have a kids Black Belt Testing happening then! That will make for a great finish to this year and hopefully kick thing into gear for the next one!

Adults will continue is hammer away at throws and ground positions! Things tend to slow a little bit in the adult class heading into years’ end. Don’t let the hecticness of life make you miss the training that helps you deal with it!

Only a couple more days till Halloween! We are running classes on normal times this week. However on Thursday and Friday we will take some time to enjoy the holiday and play a few extra game with the students. We know many Halloween parties and events have been canceled this year, our own big party included, but we want to give the kids as much to celebrate as we can!

Stay safe this Halloween. Remember to mask up and if you get any treats from unknown houses, please be sure to put it aside for a week to avoid any accidental spreading!

We’re only two weeks off from Halloween! At LWMA we consider Halloween the start of the holiday season. We won’t be having our semi-famous Halloween Party this year 🙁 We are still planning for some fun “trick or treat” surprises for the kids however! We’ll keep you posted on the happening as we get closer.

It’s that time of year when everyone’s mind turns to politics. Lion’s Way Martial Arts wants to remind everyone that as an entity we are non-political. We are not here to teach your kids, teens or even the adults what they should believe. Rather we teach life skills that will encompass all beliefs and encourage the lifestyle you choose to lead.

We do encourage everyone to vote. The right to vote is the single most important liberty you have as an American. This November, as friends, family, community members, and citizens, we have a duty to make our voices heard and encourage others to do the same.

Our world is decided by the choices we make. This is your chance to make your voice heard and help lead your community, even the nation, in the direction you desire.

For children and teens our “rolling version” of testing is going fantastic. We’ve gotten through almost all the students this week with only a few left to go. ONce we have finished all the tests we will post testing results in the LWMA Parent’s Group on Facebook first. We will also post our standard testing results in the school for the kids to see. Belts will be handed out starting on Monday!

Adults CAMBO class is also rocking it this week. Working on tai otoshi from Judo and high mount attacks. Making great strides in our game and pushing on to new heights.

First full week of Oct. as we run head first into the start of the end of the year holidays. Despite all the craziness this year we have managed to get through it with a positive attitude and and eye on the future. Keep your heads held high, better times are coming.

Kids are running some split classes this week. Some kids will be testing and others will have class as normal. Remember if your child is testing, don’t worry about the day or if they were not tested on their first day in. It’s a rolling kind of thing, they will get in the mix.

Adults CAMBO class is in full swing. New throws and new submissions are on the to do list. Don’t miss your chance to improve your skills.

Children and Teens are starting our testing cycle. These tests will happen in class over the next week. Don’t worry about the day, if you’re not tested one day you can make the next!

If you’re not testing, classes will be running as normal! Classes will be split so that those showing for regular classes will not miss out on training!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! This week we begin our testing cycle for the Children and Teens class. If your child is ready to test they will receive an application this week. Please return it by Wednesday if possible. Because of current restriction please be patient as it may take us this week and next to get all the testing completed.

Adult CAMBO class will not be interrupted! Push forward with your training and prepare to start ramping it up as we head into the end of the year. No matter what came before we can finish this year strong!

The rain continues to pour! We’ve already been stuck inside a lot this year, so the rain just adds to the mayhem. Remember to find some time to get outside, even if it’s just a for a rainy day walk. The fresh air will help keep your mood positive.
